Marking the Wall. I- IX

drywall, pine stud, drywall screws, stone, brass     2018

This series seeks to explore the process of making marks utilizing an atypical method. By tossing a stone at drywall panels while they lay flat, the impact forms random holes and abrasions. Random chance, humor, and a sense of play are key factors in the creation of this piece. The use of immediately identifiable building materials that have been left raw and untreated plays in contrast to the stone that was used to mark it. The stone has been placed on a brass mount, elevating it as a precious artifact.
